Mulching

Spreading compost, organic matter or stones etc over the soil is known as “Mulching”  This can keep weeds down and fertilize the soil as well as conserving water.  For mulching with organic material such as compost, peat, spent hops or bark a layer of 2 to 4 inches is recommended.
